Hang Dau Water Tower Hanoi
Hang Dau Water Tower
Happy New Year 2013. Let’s start the new year with a short story from Vietnam. A few weeks ago, we traveled to Hanoi for the first time. There, we found something unusual.
It was a peculiar looking architecture when we were strolling in the streets of Hoan Kiem, Hanoi. The cylinder shaped building caught our attention and there were no signs around the build so it left us guessing.
After doing some research, this is actually a circular French built water tower and it is called the Hang Dau Water Tower. It is located to the north of the Old Quartere and to the northeast of the Citadel. It is said to be the first to supply water for the city but it has not been utilized for the last few decades.
The Hang Dau Water Tower had signs of restoration works and we have attached the map below if you want to visit this tower in Hoan Kiem, Hanoi.
This is one of the tourist attractions in Hoan Kiem and you can read our homestay experience with TravelMob.com at Homestay in Hoan Kiem with TravelMob.com.
