sky100 Hong Kong Observation Deck Chinese New Year Theme
I met the representatives from sky100 Hong Kong Observation Deck last year in Kuala Lumpur in a short briefing session and I was impressed with their presentation. In fact I was planning to visit them last year but time didn’t permit. I have been to a few observation decks in the world which include Rockefella Center in New York, Macau Tower and SkyDeck in Melbourne so sky100 Hong Kong Observation Deck will be always on my list.
On my recent trip to Hong Kong, they invited me to visit them, I gladly accepted. Developed by Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP), sky100 Hong Kong Observation Deck is located on the 100th floor of ICC, the tallest building in Hong Kong. At 393 metres above sea level, it is the only observation deck in Hong Kong offering 360-degree views of the territory and its famous Victoria Harbour and complemented by a well-connected transportation network and world-class shopping mall. It also features Hong Kong’s fastest double-deck high-speed elevators that reach the 100th floor in just 60 seconds. sky100 Hong Kong Observation Deck feature various multi-media exhibits that introduce tourist attractions in Hong Kong. It is also the preferred venue for cultural, art and entertainment events, confirming its status as the city’s latest dazzling landmark.
The easiest way to go sky100 is by MTR via Kowloon MTR station via Exit B but you have to walk a short distance. I took a taxi there from Mongkok as it didn’t cost much. The observation deck is in ICC building with the Ritz Carlton Hotel.
After getting our tickets for HKD $150 each, we entered the sky100 Metal Zone. There is one projection tube in the middle with videos. It is an interesting design with its unique shape.
Then we walked through the tunnel of bling bling lights! This is at the bottom level before we taking the lift up to the 100 floor.
We moved to another tunnel of panoramic view of Hong Kong city. You watch through the history of Hong Kong city via the video presentation here.
It took only 60 seconds to up to 100th floor via the lift. Watch the countdown on the ceiling of the lift and after a minute, you are 100 floors above ground.
On the deck you will be mesmerised by the beauty of the view of Hong Kong. It is the only place to view Hong Kong 360 degress Celsius. sky100 Hong Kong Observation Deck, Hong Kong’s first indoor observation deck has welcomed over half a million visitors within a year of its opening.
