Durian Sago with Ice Cream at Sweet Huts

In recent years, Malaysia has been infested by franchise restaurants, cafes, pubs and bubble teas. While some succeed, some has been long gone. Thus, many new ones are still opening too. It is rare for me to blog about franchise food except I’m getting paid but for this case, I make an exception.

I’m not the regular fat guy who enjoys eating flavoured ice shavings in dessert restaurants. In fact, I have never eaten one. Hence, I don’t go dessert restaurants hopping either.

Today, I have the sugar cravings and I’m not pregnant. It happens once in a blue moon and not that blue moon in The Smurf movie. I was in Melaka and I didn’t have the mood of cendol or ice kacang.

By luck, I found this Sweet Huts dessert restaurant. Like I mention, I do not have any preferences in dessert restaurants as most of them serve the same thing. So then I was flipping the menu and I found something interesting. Fresh Durian Sago with Durian Ice Cream, how I can resist that?

Rachel and my friends ordered the usual Black Sesame and Almond soup. It wasn’t fancy and it didn’t taste that great anyways. The black sesame and almond soup was not hot enough. It was ordinary.

However, the Fresh Durian Sago with Durian Ice Cream was a completely different story. As if it is on a different book. Bloody hell, the durian sago was really good. Well, it is creamy and there is durian flesh with the sago. There is no lack of durian taste and it is perfected with the durian ice cream. I almost ordered another bowl! Maybe it is really hard to go wrong with durian but it was simply delectable!
