Cheras Most Popular Dim Sum Restaurant
Cheras Most Popular Dim Sum Restaurant
Cheras is a huge place but surprisingly dim sum is not as many as other eateries. There is one popular spot for dim sum in Cheras and it is often packed. It is no other than Taman Connaught’s Seong Kee.
It is packed every morning when you drive past the restaurant. Weekends are worst, cars double parked or sometimes triple parked. The restaurant must be really good if not why is it so packed.
I went there a couple of times. Most of the times, I put off by the limited parking spaces. There is no air condition in the restaurant. Thus, it is open air and it is like a market. There is a mixture of local and foreign waiters and waitresses. The service is fast as they need to turn around quick.
I have not eaten here for a few years and the dim sum has improved in terms of the presentation and taste. Thus, there are more variations too (correct me if I’m wrong). Like most Malaysian dim sum place, every table comes with sweet sauce and chili sauce. We just love heavy flavours.
Overall, the dim sum in Seong Kee is above average. Hence, that makes you wonder why is the restaurant is always packed. Maybe most of the customers love the hospitality or maybe the lack of choices of other dim sum restaurants in Cheras. Thus, the title of Cheras most popular dim sum restaurant still remains with Seong Kee.

Wow, so many choices! I think we have limited choices as compared to KL’s dim sum eateries, probably more cantonese over there? :p
What is the average price per plate?
Hi Simon,
Actually, I didn’t ask but it should range from RM 4 and above.
