Many of us heard about the salt baked chicken from Ipoh but have you tried Chef Kit’s at Damansara Utama. While looking for food in Damansara Utama, I decided to give this restaurant a try since I have not eaten any salt baked chicken for a long time.

The shop is located at Jalan SS21/56B, the row of shop houses at the opposite of BHP Petrol Station. I heard they have been there for years and you won’t miss their huge signboard.

I ordered their fried fish cake. Fried food can hardly goes wrong and the taste and texture of the fish cake is definitely above average.

Strangely, I ordered assam fish as Rachel loves it. The assam fish is good and I enjoy the assam sauce. It is not too spicy and the flavour is just right.

There are two types of salt baked chicken, the crispy and the normal version.

The crispy version is as crispy as I thought. Maybe it wasn’t my day to have the crispy version. On the saltiness level, I prefer it to be more salty. On the positive note, the chicken is tender.

The original version is definitely better than the crispy version. Again, I prefer it to be saltier. Like the crispy version, the chicken is tender. It is above average and not the best I have.

It is just my preference to have saltier salt baked chicken. If not, why you name it salt baked right? The food is above average and you are craving for salt baked chicken and runs out of idea where to have, Chef Kit’s can be your saviour. At least you know there is one restaurant in Damansara Utama that sells salt chicken.
