Healthy Yee Sang Take Away at Restoran Sri Karak
Healthy Yee Sang Take Away at Restoran Sri Karak
Yee Sang take away is a popular food for Chinese New Year in Malaysia nowadays but it is hard to find a fresh, good and tasty yee sang. Yee Sang tossing for Chinese New Year is a Malaysian Chinese tradition for decades and it is meant to bring prosperity, luck and blessing for the whole Chinese calendar year.
For those who enjoy yee sang tossing at home for Chinese New Year (especially on the CNY’s eve), yee sang take away is the best option. There are many restaurants and even hypermarkets selling yee sang take away but not all are fresh, healthy and tasty. Recently, I bought a yee sang take away (imported from Singapore) from a local hypermarket and I was shocked to see the ingredients as it is in bad shape and the smell is unbearable. I learn my lesson and I went to look for better options and I found one at Sri Karak Restaurant (same row with RHB Bank and facing Menara MPBJ) at PJ State. Their yee sang take away starts from RM 38+.
(Yee Sang with Jellyfish in convenient take away tray)
Sri Karak’s yee sang take away comes in a beautiful round box. You just have to open the transparent cover and add the sauces and toss. The interesting part is the ingredients of this yee sang. This is a vegetarian yee sang (without jelly fish and salmon) and the ingredients are pickle, ginger, pear, white radish, cabbage, pomelo, dried papaya, carrot, Chinese parsley and spring onion. Of course the unhealthy part of yee sang is always the crackers and the condiments are sesame seed, crushed peanuts, plum sauce and oil.
(Yee Sang with Norwegian Salmon and Jelly Fish with take away tray)
The one I had is the full version with jelly fish and Norwegian Salmon. I ordered half portion and it can easily fits 10 person (a small portion each) or full portion. The taste is good with a journey of flavours from the vegetables. Thus, you have it with jelly fish and salmon, it is better. You can taste the freshness of the Norwegian salmon and also the texture of the jelly fish. The best part is you don’t have to worry about the calories as most of the ingredients are vegetables. This is indefinitely highly recommended.
Their prices are as below:
