Guia Cable Car Macau

There are plenty of places of interest and things to do in Macau. Many of us will visit Ruins of St. Paul at Senado Square but Macau is definitely more than that. You can always venture in Taipa Island or take the Guia Cable Car ride. Yes, there is a cable car in Macau and it is one of the cheapest cable car rides in the world.

The Guia Cable Car or Cable Guia is an aerial gondola lift system in Guia Hill, Macau Peninsula. The cable car connects Jardin da Flora with Parque Municipal da Colina da Guia (on Guia Hill).

The ride is opened in 1997 and you get the view of the panoramic perspective of the city and this reminds me of “The Peak” in Hong Kong but the cable car offers a greater view. The ride only takes 80 seconds.

On top of the Guia Hill lies the Guia Fortress that is a historical military fort. Thus, there is also a chapel and lighthouse complex in the St. Lazarus Parish. The complex is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of Historic Centre of Macau. There are many people who missed this UNESCO World Heritage Site and I hope you are not one of them.

  1. love your shots from the cable car. it’s been a very long time since i’ve been in a cable car (though it sometimes make me queasy, as i have a little bit of a fear of heights, heh) 😀
