Homemade Ice Cream and Ice Kacang at Kow Po Bentong

Bentong is a small town located in Pahang bordering Selangor and famous for its ginger. The Bentong’s ginger is spicier than the conventional ginger and it is pricier too.

In this small town, there is one popular restaurant offering homemade ice cream and ice kacang that is only known to the locals. The name is Restoran Kow Po and it is usually packed.

They offer homemade ice cream, cendol and ABC. I tried all of them, the ice cream, the cendol and the ABC.

Like many other popular stalls, the key of success goes down to the taste and quality of their food. Take the cendol for instance, it is a simple Malaysian dessert but the beauty goes down to its ingredients and the homemade ice cream. The green jelly noodle is fresh and they are generous with the ingredients.

Their ABC or (Ais Batu Campur) or mixed crushed ice is another local delight. Fresh ingredients, tasty and addictive as it is a great dessert for a hot day.

I am not sure what Kow Po means but they do offer delicious homemade desserts in Bentong. They are located next to Bentong’s Hong Leong bank and I have attached the map below. Have fun food hunting in Bentong.
