The Best Way to Travel around Hua Hin and Cha Am
What is the best way to travel around Hua Hin and Cha Am? Getting a private taxi, a tuk tuk or a bus? If you are looking for convenience and cost effective, you should rent a car and self drive.
I have been talking about self drive in my recent stories in Thailand as it is definitely the best way to discover places with your own sweet time. Driving in Thailand is leisure and as there are many other tourists doing the same thing especially the Western tourists.
Hua Hin and Cha Am are located at the south of Bangkok. It takes around two hours of driving from Bangkok. The distance between both towns is around 27 km and it took around 25 minutes leisure driving to travel from one town to another.
You need to rent a car to travel around in both towns and one of the best car rental companies around is Thai Rent A Car. Thai Rent A Car is one of the most reputable car rental companies in Thailand with more than 7,500 vehicles and 500 staffs. In Hua Hin, there are more than 50 vehicles to choose from!
In Hua Hin, their outlet is strategically located at Villa Market and it is located in near the town of Hua Hin.
I rented their entry level car and it is 1,177 THB per day and the insurance is 214 THB per day. They offered me the fuel economical car Mitsubishi Mirage. Thus, you can rent a GPS with additional charges or you can use your mobile phone apps to navigate.
You will to need check the car with the helpful staff to ensure you get the car in proper condition and then you are ready to go.
Driving in Hua Hin and Cha Am is pure leisure as the traffic is smooth and there are road signs almost everywhere. I hardly encounter any problems driving here as there are no road tolls or parking charges. You just have to fill up the car before you hand back the car to them.
The Mirage is a fun car to drive. I drove it to many places including the Hua Hin Vineyard as well as Santorini Park. Even though it is a small car but it accelerates as you step on the pedal and the fuel consumption is very low too.
If you are travelling in a group four, you save more by renting a car in Thai Rent A Car. You can plan your trip and go where ever you want when you self drive. For more info, check out their website at http://www.thairentacar.com/
