Thean Chun Pork Satay

There are so many good food in Ipoh and often they are hidden in coffee shops around the city. Yet, there are so many of them and it will take time to discover them one by one.

At one of my trips to Ipoh, I visited Thean Chun coffee shop at 73, Jalan Market. They have most of the local food around but there is one that caught my attention, the pork satay.

The usual satay is halal and usually they are chicken, beef or mutton but for pork satay, it is uncommon. Most of the satay stalls are opened at night but this one open during day time.

When there is a pork satay of course there will be a pork intestine satay. If my mother sees this, she will order this. The satay is juicy and the “kuah” (curry paste) is thick and flavourful. I will go back there again for my pork satay craving if I am in Ipoh.
