Top Ten Melaka Food
10. Satay Celup
Lastly, satay celup or “dipping satay” is one of the most unique variations of satay. Most satay are cooked by grilling them but satay celup is by dipping onto a hotpot of thick satay sauce.
You can basically dip almost everything from fresh cockles to fresh meat. The locals enjoy dipping bread onto the thick satay sauce while some enjoy dipping quail eggs.
The fun thing about satay celup is you choose your food and you cook it. Most restaurants offer a huge variety of food to choose from so you will be spoilt for choices. The most important things about satay celup are the freshness of the food and the taste of the satay sauce.
There are two popular satay celup restaurants in Melaka. They are Ban Lee Siang and Capitol. Both are veteran in satay celup business and they are usually packed during dinner time.

These are not the good melaka belachans. The true blue ones are a large pink ball. These dark pieces are more Penang style.
Ah Boy Asam Fish near Pasar Borong very famous. However, the owner is not honest. When their business in the shop is pack, they tried to put small plate meal into big plate and sold as big plate price. Please be aware when you visit next time.
Ah Boy Asam Fish 近 Pasar Borong, 商家不诚实,欺骗食客,客流量多时把小碟菜剩去大碟,以高价出售。请帮忙提点食客,尤其是外乡人,万一把马六甲名给丢了就不好。
This post makes me desperate to head back to Melaka NOW and indulge in some of those yummies…..
