There is another hidden gem in Taman Damai Utama, a place sandwiched in between Puncak Jalil and Bukit Kinrara. Taman Damai Utama is a small housing area and there are only a handful of restaurants in the area. Even though it is cornered by Kinrara Residency, Kinrara BK 6 and Puncak Jalil, there is still lack of restaurants in the area and crowd for dinner is tremendously low. Thus, many restaurants reason to only offer breakfast and lunch.

Sun Yun Heong Yun Yong is one of the popular restaurants in the area. It has its own loyal customers and with the words of mouth, they are doing pretty good. The restaurant is a typical Chinese restaurant with no air condition. Thus, the food matters not the décor.

They offer yong tau fu, their homemade fish balls and various types of noodles such as dry noodle, wanton noodle and curry noodle. Trust me, stick with the curry noodle as the rest are ordinary. You get a bowl of thick and savoury curry together with well cooked noodles, taufupok, foo chok, fish balls and siham (cockles if my memory is right).

They make their own yong tau fu so it is fresh and something you can look forward to. This is as fresh as you can get.

I didn’t include the pictures of the fish ball but they make their fish balls in the shop. When I was having my lunch, one of the staffs was busy blending the fish paste.

They have friendly staffs and food is reasonably priced. The fish balls are quite good and you should try if you are a fish ball lover. Other than that, the food is quite decent and enjoyable.
