Penang Nyonya Lam Mee in Jelutong
We have written about lam mee in Kuala Lumpur in a few stories but we didn’t know that Penang’s version of lam mee is a totally different thing. It is the similar case to Kuala Lumpur and Penang version of Hokkien Noodle.
KL (Kuala Lumpur) version often comes with yellow noodle and thick and starchy sauce while Penang’s version taste is much lighter with chicken or pork broth.
I had the taste of Penang’s version of Lam Mee or Nyonya Lam Mee or Birthday Noodle at Batu Lancang Food Market in Jelutong Penang some time ago.
The lam mee comes with yellow noodle with clear broth and topped with prawn, shredded meat and omelette, fried shallots and coriander leaves. Like I mentioned earlier, this is much lighter taste but it is enjoyable. If you are noodle soup lover, you probably love this.
