Ernest Zacharevic Penang Murals Location and GPS Coordinates

Ernest Zacharevic, the young Lithuania-born artist who needs no more introduction as he single handed created the street art craze in Malaysia. It all started in Penang when he painted the murals or street arts in George Town in George Town Festival 2012.

It was an instant hit! The street art then went social media frenzy as many visitors throng George Town to snap pictures with his work. Ernest became a celebrity overnight and his work continues in Ipoh, Johor Bahru and Singapore.

I never visited the street art until recently and I was having problems locating most of them. Thus, I list most of his murals with the address as well as the GPS coordinates as below.

I hope this will help visitors who are looking for Ernest Zacharevic Street Art in Penang. Most of the pictures are taken at night as I wanted to visit the street art after dark and some of them are lighted by spotlights installed by the state government.

“Little Boy with Pet Dinosaur” Mural has gone thru a lot since its creation. I am not sure whether it is the weather or vandalism, the “Little Boy with Pet Dinosaur” Mural is gone.

Hope Ernest will repaint this again. This street art is located at Lebuh Ah Quee or Ah Quee Street.

“Boy on a Bike” Mural

“Boy on a Bike” Mural is located just next to the “Little Boy with Pet Dinosaur” Mural. It is located at Lebuh Ah Quee or Ah Quee Street. There are a new street art opposite of this mural, it is an unnamed footballer.

“Girl by the Sea” Mural

“Girl by the Sea” Mural is a rare find. I was happened to be there and my friend told me this is another creation by Ernest. This is located by the seaside along Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah near Eastern and Oriental (E&O) Hotel.

The best place to view this mural is at 32 Restaurant Parking Lot at Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah (5.423757, 100.333017).

Minions/Marge Simpson Bollard

Minions/Marge Simpson Bollard is located near Lorong Soo Hong and please asked around even though I put GPS location below. It was supposed to be Minions Bollard (the concrete pillar) but it was vandalised and repainted as Marge Simpson.

“Children on the Swing” Mural

“Children on the Swing” Mural is located at Lebuh Chulia or Chulia Street. Next to the mural, there is a sign stating Step by Step Lane. This is near the busy Chulia Street.

“Children Playing Basketball” Mural is located at Gat Chulia Street and this is hidden behind the shop lot so this is hard to find. I have enclosed the GPS coordinate as it took us a while to locate this without GPS.

“Reaching Up” Mural is located at Lebuh Canon or Canon Street. This mural is located behind a shop lot too so makes it hard to find in my own opinion. GPS location is as below.

“Little Children on a Bicycle” Mural

“Little Children on a Bicycle” Mural is the most popular mural by Ernest. The picture of this mural has been shared so many times in social media network such as Facebook and Instagram.

It is so popular Tourism Malaysia decided to build benches near this mural and the local state government installed a spot light to light up the mural at night.

You can find many tourists coming for this mural.
