After the success of Malaysia’s first Premium Outlet (JPO – Johor Premium Outlet) in Johor, another new premium outlet is opening this year! Malaysia’s latest factory outlet park, the Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA will be opening its doors as soon as the first quarter of 2015.

If you think JPO is huge, Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA will be bigger. The park will be the largest factory outlet shopping mall in Southeast Asia. The total space is 25,000 sqm of commercial area with 140 outlets of luxury products, fashion, sporting and outdoor goods, a Japanese specialty store, entertainment centre and an amusement park!
Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA is part of the KLIA Aeropolis Masterplan to position Malaysia as the regional Aeropolis hub.
Since it is Japanese Premium Outlet, hopefully they will bring in more Asian premium shops and also more Japanese based stores. Are we going to see anime, manga, KPOP or JPOP stores in this outlet?
Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA cost around RM 335 million of three phases and it is located six kilometres away from KLIA. There will be shuttle bus service from KLIA to the outlet.
This will be the first outlet mall in Klang Valley and Genting Premium Outlet is scheduled to open in the near future and that will be not the end of the Premium Outlets in the country. There will be two more expected to open, one in Melaka and one in Penang.
