Taman Midah Rojak Mamak
Taman Midah Rojak Mamak
Rojak mamak is everywhere and nowadays there are many small trucks selling rojak mamak by the roadside. They are many rojak mamak but good ones are hard to come by.
My blogger friend Ivy recently recommended a reliable rojak mamak stall in Cheras. The exact location is at Jalan Timur Taman Midah opposite Tesco Extra Cheras and near MRR2. GPS of the location is at the bottom of the place.
Since it was raining, I didn’t manage to take picture of the stall so I took Ivy’s picture from her blog.
Their rojak looks like usual rojak mamak, covered with thick peanut sauce. For those who are not familiar with rojak mamak, it is the combination of fried dough fritters, egg, fried bean curd, shredded cucumber and turnip. You can always get the extra squid for extras but I love the original. The difference between this and the others is the freshness of the ingredients and also the taste of the whole. I enjoyed this very much.
The cendol is well done. It comes with “green jelly”, red bean, rich coconut milk and Gula Melaka (palm sugar). I love the thickness and the flavour of the taste and also the texture of their cendol. If you don’t mind the calories count, you can easily downed a few bowls of this.
This is nameless and it is a road side rojak mamak, no fans or air cond with natural air. This is the real street food of Malaysia. The food is good but not the best and it is worth the trip.
