Chinese New Year is coming and there will be many people driving back home in this festive holiday. “Balik Kampung” or going back hometown is a norm regardless of any specific festivals. We, Malaysians celebrate each and every festive holiday as it is the perfect time to go back hometown to spend time with family and friends.
The common practises by Malaysians are getting a new car, sending the car for a full car service, getting a new paint, upgrade the sound system, cleaning and waxing the car. However, most of them neglect one of the most important elements of the car, TYRE CARE SERVICE.
I sent my car for repair following the timetable by the car manufacturer and after more than two years, my original tyres start to show the wear and tear. For me, it is always better to be safe than sorry and I will only get reliable tyre brands as safety first.
For tyres, I always buy Michelin tyres. Michelin tyre is one of the oldest tyre brands in the world and my father is a Michelin tyre user too. From one generation to another, my first Michelin is their Michelin Green Tyre. It is one of the most innovative tyres in the market as you can drive further and save fuel.
I visited TyrePlus, a Michelin Tyre One Stop Centre located at Taman Megah. I made an appointment with them, ordered the tyres according to my rim size and went there to change my tyres.
I ordered five Michelin Energy XM2 as I changed my spare tyre too as it is hardened as well. Many neglected the spare tyre as many people forget to rotate the spare tyre as well. Once you have a flat tyre, you will get a shock when the spare tyre is flat so do ask the technician to check the spare tyre from time to time when you do your schedule tyre service.
At TyrePlus, most of the work is done manually including taking out the bolts. No air guns are allowed to preserve the thread lines. That is one of the main reason I drive all the way to TyrePlus, not just changing my tires but also getting my tyres a health check.
It didn’t take long for them to do wheel balancing for all five tyres and also a wheel alignment.
While they doing their magic on the tyres, I relaxed at their customers lounge. A similar concept with most car companies customers lounge, air conditioned with sofa and a coffee machine. You can read a book or a magazine with endless cups of coffees.
Hence, I got my five brand new Michelin Green XM2 (Michelin Energy XM2) tyres changed. Billed came to RM 1,416 with some discounts given.
Some might argue that popular tyre brands like Michelin are expensive but the fact is what is the price of the quality and safety? I rather be safe than sorry. For more info visit http://www.tyreplus.com.my
