Swan Valley is located next to the Perth city. There are plenty of things to do and one of them is to visit Edgecombe Bros. The beauty of Edgecombe Bros is they are more than the usual vineyard. They dedicated a small plot of their land planting asparagus. Yes, you read it right, it is asparagus.
I visited Perth and Swan Valley as part of Gourmet Adventure with Chef Wan in Western Australia. It was one of the most memorable media trips I have participated and with Chef Wan, the trip got more interesting with his stories and philosophies.
Never in my life, I visited an asparagus farm and little did I know that they grow from the ground like a stick.
I was following Chef Wan who started to pick his own asparagus. If you want the best, you have to follow the best.
After visiting the farm, we went for the asparagus masterclass. They prepared the best asparagus from their farm and they cooked for us.
It was a simple task, stir fried and topped with sliced cheese. I never had asparagus with cheese and it was fantastic. Something you can try at home, asparagus with cheese. It is simple to cook and healthy too.
I am not sure whether they have asparagus masterclass all the time at Edgecombe Bros so please call them in advance for booking rather than giving them a surprise at their door. Plan your itinerary properly in Swan Valley so you can see and venture more things. The best way to get around Perth and Swan Valley is via self drive. Be adventurous and drive up to Margaret River too, you won’t be disappointed.
