Riverview Hotel Taipei Review: Best for Family Stay

Recently, I travelled to Taipei with my family. There were five of us including my son and this is my first time traveling abroad with 20 months son. We wanted a hotel with family room, big enough for five of us and the location must be convenient.

After browsing through Agoda.com and through recommendations, I booked Riverview Hotel Taipei. It was a peak season but luckily the hotel has enough rooms. The location is ideal as it is around 10 minutes of walking from Ximen Train Station. Ximen or Ximending is a popular tourist area in Taipei.

The hotel has two building and the reddish orange building with the lobby is the original building while the new building is hidden behind. We stayed at the brand new building and the rooms are newly refurbished.

We took the taxi from the Taipei International Airport to the hotel. Most taxis in Taiwan uses meter and we met some of the most friendly taxi drivers in Taipei. The taxi fare was around 2000 NT, it could be cheaper if the traffic was better. Most of the taxi drivers know Riverview Hotel Taipei as it is a very established hotel in Taipei.

We were greeted by many smiley faces as we reached Riverview Hotel Taipei. The front desk staffs were very helpful and within minutes, we check in our room.

It is a huge room with two big beds. Considering this is in Taipei, the family room is huge. It comes with modern bathroom and toilet.

The room offers with two big beds with four pillows. It also comes with a working desk, flat screen TV, universal power points, FREE WIFI, mini fridge, safe and complimentary mineral water. Since the front desk noticed I have a toddler, they gave us extra two mineral water bottles, how thoughtful.

The bathroom was reasonably large and it comes with a bathtub, standing shower area and the toilet with automated bidet. The bidet system is similar to ones in Japan and Korea and trust me you will not have complains on that.

I was quite surprised the bathroom comes with a bathtub. That’s why I said the room is huge. Most hotel rooms in Taipei are small but this one is definitely comfortable.

We went out during the day comes back during evening. The room is quiet even though it is near the highway so we had really good sleeps during our four night stays at Riverview Hotel.

The breakfast was located at the main building at the top floor. The surprise factor was not the food but the view. At the top floor of the hotel, you can embrace the view of Mount Guanyin (not sure which is correct mountain) and also the magnificent view of Danshui River as well as the morning traffic jam.

The natural scenery was the bonus on top of the Asian and continental breakfast offered by the hotel. There are two sections, one section of regular hotel guests while the other section for tour groups. Since we went to the wrong section on our first day, the meals are the same and both offers the same picture alike breath taking view.

Five days and four nights staying at Riverview Hotel, we were greeted by smiley staffs and the doorbell boys were courteous too. The service is definitely top notch and it makes our stay enjoyable and memorable.

I don’t mind staying again at Riverview Hotel Taipei. The hotel’s location is strategic, the room was clean, staffs were friendly and the room rates were reasonable. From the bottom of my heart, take a good look at their rates for your next holiday in Taipei. You can check out their best rates at Agoda.com
