Bobae Tower Wholesale Market Bangkok
Bobae Tower Wholesale Market Bangkok
There are a few wholesale markets in Bangkok. Of course, the popular one is Pratunam Market and the other popular market is Chatuchak Market. The Platinum Mall Wholesale shopping centre has been the top favourite for many tourists and traders for wholesale shopping. However, there are a few more places that are not popular with tourists and one of them is Bobae Tower Wholesale Market.
Bobae Market has been around for more than 30 years and the Bobae Tower is the pioneer version of Platinum Mall. It is a shopping mall, it is air conditioned and it is the older version of Platinum Mall.
Bobae Tower houses 1300 shops over 6 level of shops and one level of food court while the tower is occupied by Prince Palace Hotel.
There are no BTS or Subway stations near Bobae Tower and the best way to visit this place is by taxi. The nearest BTS station is at National BTS Station and you can take a taxi from there. All the taxi drivers know Bobae Tower, it has been around for the decades.
Bobae Tower has seen its glory days and it is aged now. You can find many locals here instead of tourists as prices of the wholesale here is cheaper.
There is a debate of which is the better wholesale shopping mall, Bobae Tower or Platinum Mall but in my own opinion, both mall has its strengths and weaknesses.
The prices of the wholesale are slightly cheaper in Bobae Tower but I feel that the design of the apparels sold in Bobae is a bit conservative. Platinum Mall offers more trendy design but some of my friends do find some gem in Bobae Tower.
Bobae Market strictly sells items for wholesale only from 3 items to 5 items per purchase. The mall is similar to old Sungei Wang shopping mall or Sim Lim tower kind of design. It is fully air conditioned and they sell clothes and apparels from kids to adults.
If you want to be more adventurous, just walk across the road and visit the Bobae Market by the river. The wholesale market has been around for more than 30 years.
Thus, if you think wholesale market is plainly in Pratunam, there are plenty more to discover in Bangkok. That’s why I love Bangkok because it has many hidden secrets to discover.
