Hatyai is a city in Southern Thailand. It is a very important tourism city in Thailand and it is busy all year round for decades. Most of the tourists come from Malaysia. They used to drive to Hatyai but now you can fly in with airlines from Kuala Lumpur.

The city is usually packed during weekends as well as during Malaysia Public Holidays. Thus, you can find many Singaporeans here too.

For Malaysians who stayed in Northern Peninsula States, they have border passes so they do not require passport to enter Thailand. Thus, it is easier for them to visit Hatyai as a weekend getaway.

Then, you have the Bird’s Nest and Shark Fins restaurant in the city. Since shark fins are not getting that popular, a bowl of bird’s nest is still cheaper than what you can get in Malaysia.

You can find dim sum in Hatyai is rather cute. The size of the dim sums is smaller but you won’t be disappointed with the taste.

The “crystal” pineapple is the sweetest pineapples around as well as their mango sticky rice. Most of the food prices in Hatyai are still reasonable and that is another pulling factor for tourists.

Lee Garden Shopping Mall has been the center of attractions in Hatyai for decades. As tourism booms in city, there are newer attractions built in the city.
