There are probably one million reasons to travel to Bangkok, seriously. You will never get tired of Bangkok or Thailand in general as there are plenty to discover and plenty to eat. Of course, food is one of the main reasons to travel to Bangkok and I am not talking about street food but quality good food.

Well, there are quite a few restaurants in Bangkok is topping the list of some of the Asia’s best restaurant list and it signifies Bangkok as one of Asia’s top destination for good food. In fact, it is not just quite a few but many restaurants are offering quality good food. When you have good food, you need good grocery stores. There is where Dean & DeLuca comes in.

Dean & DeLuca is a chain of upscale American grocery stores. It is originated in New York City and since its established in 1977, the brands have been expanding in America and now expanding in the rest of the world. The word Dean & DeLuca is derived from founders Joel Dean and Giorgio DeLuca.

Dean & DeLuca opened quite a number of outlets in Asia. From Tokyo, Seoul, Dubai, Singapore and to Thailand, sadly there is none in Malaysia. They have a few outlets in Bangkok and I visited the Silom’s outlet at MahaNakhon Cube.

The MahaNakhon Cube outlet is located beside Chong Nonsi BTS Station. Just out of Exit 3 and you will spot the beautiful Dean & DeLuca store.

I went there with my friend for a cup of coffee as I never been to Dean & Deluca store before. It is a very beautiful store with many imported food items for sale.

We ordered some food and coffee, they are Nicoise salad, Teriyaki Salmon with mash potatoes and Coffee Vienna.

The Nicoise Salad

The Nicoise Salad is salad of tomatoes, tuna, hard-boiled eggs, Niçoise olives, and anchovies, dressed with vinaigrette. Well, the salad is fresh, the tuna is fresh and it is hard to go wrong with Nicoise Salad.

The Teriyaki Salmon with mash potatoes

Maybe I should order something different. The Teriyaki styled Salmon is sweet and you can taste the freshness of this Norwegian salmon. It is not a spectacular dish but comfort food.

There are many types of food available for takeaway and I did buy some of the cookies back to Malaysia. Most of them are British made.

Dining in Dean & Deluca is more for experience rather than the food. The food is good but nothing spectacular but the service is top notch.
