Thailand Cotton Candy (Saimai) in Bangkok
Thailand Cotton Candy (Saimai) in Bangkok
This is another unique food we found in Bangkok. It is Thailand’s version of cotton candy and locals call it Saimai. This cotton candy is quite rare now according to my friend, Natt and we found this in Talad Rod Fai Srinakarin Train Night Market.
It is a small stall selling only cotton candy saimai but the unique thing is you have to press a small button and it will determined how many cotton candy you can win. It is a little wheel of fortune game.
We got lucky to have two and we paid 10 or 20 Baht for each round.
There were three coloured cotton candy and we chose the pink and the green ones. They were wrapped with spring roll “skin” into a mini spring roll.
The cotton candy comes with flavour and it is sweet and savoury. It is like a little snack while you can walk around in the night market.
We have been traveling in Thailand for years and this is the first time seeing this. If you are visiting the Talad Rod Fai Srinakarin Train Night Market, you should try this. This is one of the many food stalls available at Talad Rod Fai Srinakarin Train Night Market. Maybe if you lucky enough, you can find this in other night markets. Talad Rot Fai Srinakarin opens from Thursdays to Sundays from 5pm till late. It is best to visit them around 7 pm as they usually took some time to open their stalls.
