Where is the best fish and chips in Western Australia? If you ask anyone from Western Australia (WA), the name is Cicerello’s. It is not a familiar name if you are not from WA but it is a household for the locals.

Cicerello’s has more than 100 years of history and it is located in the heart of Australia’s largest fishing boat harbour.

I visited the Cicerello’s Fremantle at Fishing Boat Harbour some time ago after the other branch was packed. I was traveling with Chef Wan with his fans in Western Australia.

Luckily we made reservation or else we have no place to sit. You can either sit indoor or outdoor. Trust me, the outdoor view is a killer. The view of the Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour is breath taking.

We had lunch there and we ordered some of their signature dishes.

Seafood Chowder

We started the lunch with the seafood chowder. Seafood chowder is a version of seafood soup and it is usually thick and creamy. Cicerello’s version of seafood chowder is creamy, thick and never lack of taste. It didn’t disappoint us at all.

Fried Calamari Rings

This is the finger food we ordered. This is lightly battered, deep fried to perfection. We loved this and we ordered another tray of it.

Traditional Fish and Chips Set

Their signature dish, the traditional fish and chips set. The fish lightly battered and deep fried to perfection, it is well seasoned and it is tasty.  The fish and chips definitely live up to its reputation for sure.
