However for this month of October, they will open their doors to public for the first time for the MIGF (Malaysia International Gourmet Festival) 2015 menu as well as their ala-carte menu.

If you need a quiet and privacy, Oak Room is definitely the ideal choice. Thus, there are no children are allowed in the Oak Room except special functions or events.
We visited the Oak Room a few days ago to try out their first MIGF menu during lunch hour. Their full festival menu offers five course meals with a choice of two main dishes with or without wine.
The full festival menu price without wine is RM 188 nett per person and with wines is RM 268 nett per person.
The restaurant is cozy, quiet and the service staffs are very attentive. There is a dress code with no shorts and collar shirts for this restaurant. Please wear decent as the guests are high executives or VIPs.
The Oak Room MIGF 2015 Festival Menu started off with an appetiser (not in the menu). This is an additional appetizer created by the chef. It is lightly seared salmon topped with caviar. This is very appetizing, the salmon is soft in texture and it comes with the strong flavour from the caviar and the slight sour taste from the piece of grape. For your info, this is Chef’s special.
The seared Hamachi (yellow tail) perfectly cooked and it goes well with the light salty flavour of the fish roe. It goes well with the WestEnd Semillion Sauvignon Blanc 2013.
The foie gras is slightly over fried but it is tasty and goes well with the pear and onion marmalade. Beautifully paired with Don Vinivo Chardonnay Macabeo 2013
This is very well presented consommé with the golf leaf on top of the dumpling. The consommé is light and it goes very well with the dumpling. This goes very well with the wine.
You know you dine at the right place when they serve palette cleanser before the main course. The palette cleanser is refreshing and sour, just right before the main course.
There are two main courses to choose from. One is the rack lamb set (red meat) while the other one is the black cod (white meat).
The main course comes with a generous portion of black cod. It is roasted to perfection, not under or over cooked. The fish is tasty and you can taste the freshness of it and it goess well with the chickpea puree. Of course, it is perfectly paired with the chardonnay.
The rack of lamb is pan fried to medium. We should have requested medium rare but even on medium, it didn’t disappoint us. The meat is tender and well marinated and it is simple gorgeous with the wild rustic sauce. Paired with the merlot, you get the slight sweetness from the wine. We prefer the rack of lamb than the black cod probably because the taste is heavier.
The strawberries Pavlova is sour in taste and it goes well with the sweet NVY Passion fruits. The pavlova is reasonably sized and there is mignardise after this.
The picture shows Petit Four for two persons. You get different flavours from the Petit Four and it is the ideally conclude the festival menu with choices of coffee or tea.
Overall, we were very impressed with their MIGF Festival Menu. We enjoyed the most of the dishes especially the appetisers and the rack of lamb. This is one of the most impressive MIGF menus so far.
