St. Regis Langkawi Gourmand Deli Review
St. Regis Langkawi Gourmand Deli Review
Recently, we were traveling with celebrity Mynn Lee in Langkawi as we want to discover and introduce new places for our readers. Mynn Lee blogs on her travel blog at www.shewalkstheworld.com and one of the highlights on our trip is to visit the new St. Regis Langkawi luxury hotel.
St. Regis Langkawi is set for the Grand Opening this week on 29th May 2016 and it will be the first St. Regis hotel in Malaysia. St. Regis Kuala Lumpur will be the second hotel in Malaysia after St. Regis Langkawi. Thus, we wrote a review on the hotel which you can read here.
On top of the famous St. Regis butler service and top notch suites, the hotel is also popular with their dining. Hence, there are five restaurants in St. Regis Langkawi and they are L’Orangerie, KayuPuti, The St. Regis Bar, Gourmand Deli and The Drawing Room.
We went to Gourmand Deli for snacks after we had a heavy lunch in town. The deli is located next to the main lobby and L’Orangerie. You can find pastries such as sandwiches, tarts, macaroons and other small bites.
It is a comfortable deli and you have the option of sitting indoor with tall chairs and marble tables or relaxing outdoor with the view of the sea.
We ordered two coffees and two tarts. They also offer drinks like freshly squeezed juices, chilled juices, smoothies, soft drinks and TWG Tea Selections.
Tarts are selling at RM 36 nett each and the hot coffees are priced at RM 29 nett each.
We had the lemon and fruits tart. Both tarts come with the crumbly texture base. For the lemon tart, the taste is not too sweet even though you can taste the hints of sweetness from the bits of chocolates and small piece of lemon meringue.
For the fruit tarts, it comes with generous amount of colourful fruits like orange berries, slices of strawberries and blueberries. The fruits add natural sweet taste to the tart and this is delightful.
The deli offers free butter cookies and colourful meringue. The fragrant soft butter cookies are so delicious and you simply can’t stop eating it. Thus, it compliments well with the cafe latte we ordered.
The Macchiato has the rich aroma and the taste is simply gorgeous. Again, this compliments well with their butter cookies or the meringue.
With soothing classical music, we had great time enjoying our food and pampered by the well trained staffs of St. Regis Langkawi.
Gourmand Deli is ideal for snacking and small bites while chilling out in the hotel. You want something heavy for the afternoon, we recommend the Afternoon Tea at Drawing Room priced at RM 135 nett for two persons with tea and coffee selections. If you prefer bubbly champagne, it will be priced at RM 190 nett.
