First of all, this product is available in Thailand only. We bought this Star Chefs Japanese Curry with Chicken by Yasuji Morizumi at ThaiFex 2016 and they are available in most major supermarkets.

The Star Chefs Japanese Curry with Chicken by Yasuji Morizumi packed is 200 gm and priced at 120 Baht per packed. There is a few version of Star Chefs packed food, Japanese Curry with Chicken or Beef and Hamburg Steak. Since we sampled the food at ThaiFex 2016, we bought three packs as we loved the taste.

Short info on Chef Yasuji Morizumi. He is trained as a French chef, Yasuji Morizumi a ramen specialist and earned the first ever Michelin stars for a ramen restaurant in London. He is also known as the ‘ramen king’.

The Star Chefs Japanese Curry with Chicken by Yasuji Morizumi pack comes with chicken and all the ingredients. You just need to heat the pack instantly by boiling it or heating it up in microwave. We make things complicated by cooking it in the pan as we added more chicken strips.

We pan fried the chicken strips (non-marinated) with butter. You can have it with oil of course.

After the chicken is almost cooked, we poured the in Star Chefs Japanese Curry with Chicken by Yasuji Morizumi pack. We let the chicken cooked a little bit with the sauce.

Soon, the Japanese curry is ready. We only use one pack for the 500 grams of chicken strips. Thus, we should have added one more packed for more gravy.

How is the taste?

Star Chefs Japanese Curry with Chicken by Yasuji Morizumi taste slightly different than the usual Japanese curry.  The taste is non spicy of course and it didn’t have that significant Japanese curry taste that we felt is overwhelming. However, it has its own character in terms of taste and we loved it. That’s why we felt it is unique and yet tasty.

Trust us, Star Chefs Japanese Curry with Chicken by Yasuji Morizumi goes well with rice (preferably Japanese rice) and pasta! We are plan to stock up more on our next trip to Thailand.
