Tsukiji Yama-Chou Tamagoyaki Japanese Rolled Egg Omelette
Tsukiji Yama-Chou Tamagoyaki Japanese Rolled Egg Omelette
The largest fish market in the world, the Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo is not just about seafood. Thus, you can find many good food and snacks at shops located near the market. If you can spot people queuing for seats or to buy food, that is a popular food place.
In case you didn’t know, it will be relocated this November for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo so this was probably our last visit to this market. If you never visited Tsukiji, you better do it fast!
So we heard there are many good food near the market. It used to be best hidden secret but with the Internet, not much secret left. Many popular places are packed with long queue as there are limited space and seats for everyone.
We didn’t go and queue as we had limited time at Tsukiji. You can really spend half day here if you want to wake up early for to see the seafood auction.
One of the snacks highly recommended by us is the Tamagoyaki or Japanese rolled egg omelette. There is a few popular tamagoyaki stall and Yama-Chou is one of them.
They offered different variety of Tamagoyaki and the plain is only cost 100 Yen each. Since we are going around to taste the food, we ordered the plain Tamagoyaki. This is a simple Tamagoyaki with soft and fluffy texture and it is slightly sweet after taste. Something simple and nice to feel the hungry tummy while walking relentlessly in Tokyo.
This is something you can look for when you are in Tsukiji. Remember to eat in front of the stall and return back the leftovers as there are not many garbage bins in Tokyo.
