Michelin Guide Thailand 2017 Is Coming!
Michelin Guide Thailand 2017 Is Coming!
Watch out Thailand, the Michelin Guide is coming! Finally, Thailand will have its own edition of Michelin Guide Thailand. After Singapore makes noises on their first Michelin Guide 2016, Thailand will have their own by end of this year.
According to news report on TNN, the Thai government confirmed that the cabinet has approved a THB143.5 million budget for the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) bring Michelin Guide to Thailand in a five year contract.
Thailand will be the seventh country in Asia to have its own Michelin Guide after Japan, Hong Kong, China, Macau, South Korea and Singapore. Thailand’s first Michelin Guide is expected to launch by end of the year.
This is a very interesting move by TAT as this will elevate Thailand status as one of the top destinations for good food. We all know Thailand offers many good food and with the Michelin Guide coming, we will know better where is the best food in the country.
Is this worth the investment by TAT? In our opinion, this is a bold move but it will be rewarding. By having their own Michelin Guide, Thailand will attract a new group of foodies from all around the world. Thus, this will create competition among restaurants in the country to be better and listed under the prestigious Michelin Guide.
We can’t wait for Michelin Guide Thailand 2017 and it will be Michelin Starred restaurant hunting in 2018. Keep calm everyone, Michelin Guide is coming to Thailand!
