No more FREE Parking in Genting Highlands
No more FREE Parking in Genting Highlands
Genting Highlands is one of the top places to visit in Malaysia. We visited Genting Highlands for over 30 years. While many might go up for gaming but it’s the cooling weather, the attractions and the free parking is one of the key reasons why we love Genting Highlands so much. From 1st October 2017, there won’t be any free parking services available in Genting Highlands anymore.
Just a few hours ago, a report by China Press confirmed that visitors have to pay for parking in Genting Highlands since 1st October that includes Maxims, One World Hotel, Sky Plaza and Genting Grand.
The parking charges are RM 5 per day on weekdays and RM 8 per day on weekends and public holidays.
According to China Press, the parking charges will change in 2018. It will start from RM 2 per hour with a max limit of RM 12 on weekdays while it will be hourly rates of RM 3 per hour with a maximum rate of RM 18 per day during weekends and public holidays.
For those who enjoys to drive up for the cooling weather or for a cup of Starbucks, it won’t be free parking anymore.
If the 20th Century Fox Theme Park completes next year, you have to take consideration of the parking charges on top of the theme park entrance fees.
Oh my, it’s a reality that we have to face. People aren’t going to love it. But it is what it is.
Too bad..But maybe its for a good reasons..Will probably change to public transport if visiting Genting next time 🙂
