Oribe Sushi Vipod Residence Jalan Kia Peng
Oribe Sushi Vipod Residence Jalan Kia Peng
Where is the best sushi restaurant in Kuala Lumpur? If you ask the Japanese community in Kuala Lumpur, Oribe Sushi is one of top places for sushi. The restaurant is located at the Ground Floor of Vipod Residence in Jalan Kia Peng.
Oribe Sushi has been around for a couple of years and it built its reputation as one of the top omakase style sushi restaurants in Malaysia. All the seafood served is air-flown from Japan from four times a week. It is all about precision and quality in Oribe Sushi.
The man behind Oribe Sushi is Master Chef Hideaki Oritsuki. He was a popular figure in Sushi Hinata before he left in 2014 and opened Oribe Sushi. Many of his loyal customers followed him to Oribe sushi.
They are open for lunches and dinners and please book your table as they are packed from time to time. You can try walk-in but it is the best you book your table as well as the parking spaces. They allocated 9 parking lots for their customers. If not, you are advised to park at the old Butter Factory parking lots or UOA 2 Kuala Lumpur.
If you look at their menu, there is no mention what type of sushi you will be having. It is omakase style means you will be served with the food chef prepared that day.
We had the full course meal with sushi platter with combination from the silver fish, tuna, white fish, prawn and high cholesterol bowl of ikura salmon (roe), chopped tuna, white prawn, uni (sea urchin) and rice. The course we are having is RM 498 and above.
If you are a real sushi lover, you know that you don’t really need to deep the sushi with heaps of soy sauce and wasabi. To enjoy the best sushi, it is important to taste the natural flavour of the sushi. Most high-end sushi restaurants seasoned the sushi accordingly. Some might advise you to lightly dipped the sushi to soy sauce or sea salt in some cases.
In our recent trip to Okayama, we learnt a lot about sushi making as well as enjoying sushi. The precision of cutting the fish and preparing sushi in that instant can deliver the best taste of the sushi. We were told that most sushi master must not have warm hands as it will spoil the taste of the sushi. This is the quality and precision of sushi making to its perfection as we were told. From the quality of the rice to the ingredients. That’s why Sushi Oribe gets air-flown seafood four times a week from Japan.
In Sushi Oribe, expect nothing but one of the best sushi you can enjoy in Malaysia. Make sure you do your reservation before you dine at Sushi Oribe. The price is upscale but the experience and the taste of their sushi is priceless. Thank you.
