The Eslite Hotel Taipei Review |诚品行旅

Many people know Eslite as one of the largest bookstores in Taiwan. It was established by Rober We Ching-yu in 1989 and his first humble book shop was located in Dunhua Taipei. They started selling art and humanities related books before their first 24 hour bookstore in Taiwan.

Now, they have a total of 48 branches, 4 music stores, retail shopping mall called Eslite Spectrum and their first hotel, The Eslite Hotel. Understanding the history of Eslite gives me the idea of the expectation of the hotel.

I stayed in many different hotels around Asia and some parts of the world. This one goes into the list of one of the most unique hotels I’ve stayed. This is not one of those super luxurious hotels or stunning design hotels ever but the concept is rather unique.

The lounge of the hotel is actually a book library. Adapting the true value of Eslite, you can read any books in the hotel lounge for FREE.

On top of that, if you take a detail look at the architecture and design, you can sense the high quality material used as well as the design.

I stayed in Studio King with Balcony Room. The size of the room is huge with a living room and a view to kill.

First impression of the room. It is a huge room, King size bed, flat screen TV, working desk, sofa, wardrobe, mini bar and books.

When you look deeper, you will find the high quality materials used in things like the carpet, walls, flooring, paintings, glasses and more. It is a touch of luxury and this is why it is worth every penny to stay in Eslite Hotel.

The bathroom is spacious and it comes with a bathtub, individual standing shower area and individual toilet area. It comes with posh toilet amenities from Bvlgari.

There is also the welcome note, fruits platter and chocolates. The welcome note is important as the hotel acknowledges your stay and the fruits and chocolates are good for supper.

The night city view here from the balcony is nothing less than spectacular. That is also the main reason that all the city view rooms are fully booked during New Year’s Eve period (for the New Year’s Fireworks Show at Taipei 101). As you can see from the picture, you get unobstructed view of Taipei 101 and hence this is the best place to book for New Year! You can enjoy the fireworks in the balcony of your hotel room! Of course, peak season prices apply.

Staying here is within the city and yet quiet at night. Not forget to mention Eslite Spectrum is just next door! Thus, this means there are food and more shopping just right in the corner.

For breakfast, you will be spoilt with choices. There are local and Western food for breakfast and not forgetting more books for reading.

If you want a memorable luxurious stay in Taipei, try a few nights in Eslite Hotel Taipei. If you manage to book during New Year’s Eve is the bonus. Either way, you won’t regret staying here.
