AirAsia launches new flights to Phu Quoc Island Vietnam 

Exciting times ahead for AirAsia. AirAsia officially announced that they will be flying to Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam. This is their fifth destination in Vietnam from Kuala Lumpur after Ho Chi Minh, Nha Trang, Danang and Hanoi.

The first flight will commence on 2nd November 2018 (that’s my birthday) and it will be four weekly flights!

We heard about Phu Quoc from our traveller and Vietnamese friends for a long time and this is a good chance for us to travel there one day.


For your information, Phu Quoc is the largest island in Vietnam and also home of a diverse landscape featuring lush forests, crystal clear beaches and towering mountains.

AirAsia will offer special introductory all in fares from Kuala Lumpur to Phu Quoc Island from RM 90 one way (promotional fares).These fares are available for booking on AirAsia.com and AirAsia mobile app from 8 August to 19 August which means it starts today’s midnight. The travel period from 2 Nov 2018 to 29 March 2019.

Big Pay members will enjoy zero processing fees when making paymet using BigPay card while AirAsia BIG members can also redeem one way flight from Kuala Lumpur to Phu Quoc island from 100 AirAsia BIG Points (base fare only).

We have not been to Vietnam since last year and this looks like an interesting destination for us to explore in the future. AirAsia has been very busy opening new routes in ASEAN. They recently launched KL – Lake Toba and now Phu Quoc.
