Milo Kaw with Cheese and Durian at Cheese Banjir Desa Pandan

Can you imagine the combination of taste of Milo Kaw (thick Milo) with cheese and durian? This sounds absurd right but there is one restaurant in Kuala Lumpur is selling that right now? My curiousity of this ‘durian dish’ brought me to Desa Pandan to this restaurant called Cheese Banjir.

Cheese Banjir is located at Lot G10, G-Village, Jalan 1/76, Desa Pandan (next to Shell Out). It is a simple looking restaurant. They offer many interesting cheese dishes including cheese pasta and drinks.

My intention was clear which is to taste the Milo Kaw with Cheese and Durian. If you look at their menu, they also offer Mango Kaw Blended, Carrot Milk Blended, ‘Teh’, Kopi (coffee) and Nescafe Kaw with Cheese and Durian.

This is how it is, the base is Milo Kaw and then the cheese layer and topped with durian. You have to taste each layer and with a small bite of the durian to taste the combination.

Once you stir the Milo with the cheese, the taste of Milo will overwhelm the taste of the cheese. If you take a huge bite of the durian, the taste of durian will overwhelm everything else.

If you have the right balance of Milo Kaw, cheese and durian, you will get the strange taste. The sweetness of Milo, the saltiness of the cheese and the rich taste of the durian.

However, I feel that the durian taste is too strong for this combination. However, I do like durian cendol and durian pulut hitam (which I tasted in Johor many years ago).
