Eat Me Restaurant Silom Bangkok
Eat Me Restaurant Silom Bangkok
Bangkok is popular for its street food and fine dining restaurants. On our recent trip to Bangkok, our Thai friends recommended us to visit Eat Me restaurant. The restaurant is located at Phiphat 2, Silom, Bang Rak, Bangkok.
The restaurant is hidden in the neighbourhood of Silom. It is recommended you take a taxi or Grab over to this restaurant. Eat Me Restaurant is the brainchild of Australian Darren Hausler and his sister Cherie Hausler. The restaurant is opened since 1998 and they have been getting rave reviews for the past 20 years. Eat Me restaurant is listed numerous times in Asia’s Top 50 Restaurants and awarded as ‘Michelin Plate’ in The Michelin Guide Thailand.
You will be greeted by the smiley staff once you walk in to Eat Me restaurant. There is a beautiful hidden courtyard in the restaurant and the bar is located on the ground floor.
For dining, it is on the upper floor and the restaurant is packed with customers usually locals. Reservations for tables is a must as it can be busy during dinner time.
Witlof is also known as Chicory, a type of vegetable and this comes with Burrata salad, preserved lemon and dry aged Cecina beef. The taste is a bit acidic with crunchy texture of the beef.
White asparagus offers more delicate flavour compare to the usual green asparagus. The white asparagus also comes with manchego, saffron and jamon. We love the texture of the white asparagus and the hints of saltiness from the jamon and caviar.
This spicy wagyu tartare “lab: comes with red onion, chili and coriander and compliment with the bread. It is the combination of Thai and Western cooking method and this spicy wagyu tartare offers spicy after taste that is different than the usual tartare.
Their version of pan seared sea scallops comes with lobster bisque, chorizo and charred chives. The creamy lobster bisque complements well with the huge size sea scallops. We love the lobster bisque as it is full of flavour and the scallop is so tasty. One bowl of this is not enough to be honest.
This charred Hamachi (fish) collar comes with sea urchin butter, garlic and scallion. In Malaysia, we probably named this as Hamachi Fish Head and we enjoyed the freshness of the Hamachi and the butter and garlic added more flavour to the natural taste of the Hamachi.
The bucatini pasta comes with generous amount of lobster and they cook this with chilli, herbs and colatura di alici. Colatura di alici is an Italian fish sauce made from anchovies and it offers more flavour to the pasta. Don’t be fooled by the beautiful visual of the Lobster bucatini pasta as it is offers spicy after taste.
This is something unique as the bone marrow is cooked with red curry oxtail, kaffir lime, basil and coriander. The taste of this is very familiar and it is similar to our Rendang sauce. This can be renamed as Rendang bone marrow and this is tasty!
This is probably one of the best beef tenderloins we have tasted. The beef tenderloin is cooked to ‘medium rare’ and we cut it into pieces (for photos and videos), you can tell that the chef cooked this to perfection. Look at the colour of that beef tenderloin. The texture and the taste of this beef tenderloin is out of the world. The taste of this is so good, we just flew to Asgard and back and thru the seven realms.
This cocktail is inspired by local ‘laab’ flavour and this is combination of ketel one, mint, shallot, cilantro, roasted rice, lim and Serrano ham. This cocktail offers strong flavour with spicy after taste and the ham offers the crunchy texture. Do check the other cocktail creations and also drinks available.
This gorgeous looking sticky date pudding comes with hot butterscotch sauce and vanilla ice cream.
This unique goat cheese ice cream comes with red wine poached pear and honeycomb. Get a scoop of the ice cream, pear and honeycomb and you get the different layers of taste and texture.
If you are chocolate lover, you should order this. The flourless dark chocolate cake and the chocolate sauce is sinful and a great way to end the dinner we had at EAT Me Restaurant.
Eat Me restaurant is a perfect place for couples, friends or families. Overall, we love the ambiance the restaurant, the food here is outstanding and we will definitely come back again.
