Bangkok Thailand Update Siam Paragon Mall
Bangkok Thailand Update Siam Paragon Mall
How is the situation in Bangkok right now? Is it safe to travel to Bangkok? Are the shopping malls empty in Bangkok right now? Like everyone else, we heard rumours of empty malls in Bangkok due to the current situation of the corona virus and hence we travel to Bangkok to check out the real situation. We went to Singha Park Balloon Fiesta last week and did a short trip in Bangkok and visited Siam Paragon Mall.
We went to Siam Paragon Mall in Bangkok last Sunday during lunch time. The Siam BTS Station was busy not as packed as usual weekends.
We walked into Siam Paragon Mall and we noticed a few new things. As usual, we have to go through the metal scanner (like other popular malls in Bangkok) and then we will go through the thermal scanner and then they gave us the hand sanitizer to clean our hands. If you watch the video, you notice there is a dedicated medical team at the main entrance of Siam Paragon too.
Please take note that the thermal scanner only at the main entrance and not the smaller entrances. For those who are taking the train, you most likely go through the thermal scanner.
For the crowd, Siam Paragon Mall was busy. When we go to the upper floors, there are lesser crowds as usual.
We noticed that the mall cleaner was cleaning the escalator handrailing. We are not sure how frequent he is cleaning the escalator handrailing but when we went in, he is cleaning the handrailing.
There are also many hand sanitizers located around the mall and near the washrooms. We didn’t take any photos of the sanitizers but it is common now in Bangkok.
We went down to the Food Hall or Food Court, it was packed with locals and tourists. Business seems as usual to us at Siam Paragon Mall in Bangkok.
We noticed that there are lesser Chinese national tourists in Bangkok at this time. Most tourists are from Western countries but we do spot other Asians in smaller number. The crowd in the shopping malls in Bangkok are mostly local Thais.
Lastly, we do notice that not everyone is wearing the mask especially the local Thais and Western tourists. Most Asian tourists are wearing mask including us.
On the other note, we also visited Central World on Sunday night and it is was not that busy. Bangkok Chinatown is also lesser crowd compare to January. We hope that answer all the rumours and questions about the shopping mall situation in Bangkok.
