New mandatory Measures for All Inbound Arrivals to Thailand
New mandatory Measures for All Inbound Arrivals to Thailand
There are new mandatory measures for all inbound arrivals to Thailand starting this Thursday according to BangkokPost today. This applies to every traveller to Thailand. The new mandatory measures for all inbound arrivals to Thailand include providing your contact information such as mobile phone numbers and email address via immigration for T8 or an application developed by the National Science and Technology Development Agency that can be downloaded from Thursday.
Foreign tourists can continue using their mobile SIM card for phone packages with roaming service, or buy a new SIM card at 49 baht with unlimited internet. This means they might set up the telco booths before the immigration area and getting the portable WIFI might not ideal.
The latest move came yesterday after an urgent meeting at the office of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) that included the NBTC secretary-general, the digital economy and society (DES) minister and representatives from the Immigration Police and the DDC.
This is a good move for the Thai authorities to track down the tourists as it is easier to contact them via phone than email address in our opinion. Please make sure you fill up the T8 immigration form when you enter Thailand.
Please take care of your hygiene when you are traveling, always wash your hands and do not touch your face using your hands. Travel safe everyone! You can read all our stories on Thailand at https://www.placesandfoods.com/category/thailand
