There are a few Kim Zen Restaurants outlets in Klang Valley. We went to Kim Zen Restaurant in Cheras Leisure Mall for our craving for bakuteh. The restaurant is located at the second floor of Food Section of the mall. This Food Section offers many non-halal restaurants as demographic in this area are mostly Chinese and this offers many food options to customers.
Kim Zen Restaurant at Cheras Leisure Mall offers Chinese cuisine as well as bakuteh. It is one of those days that you have craving for bakuteh. We ordered one claypot of bakuteh for two persons.
The claypot bakuteh comes with the pork meat, pork ribs, pork intestines, pork belly, pork skin, pork balls with enoki mushrooms and crispy tofu skin. The bakuteh soup taste alright for us, we just wanted to have that herbal soup for our cravings.
Usually we preferred just the pork belly and pork ribs and the soup with taufupok and youtiao. Kim Zen’s version of bakuteh is decent, the taste is alright, nothing to shout about and it is pure comfort food. We believed that their service can be improved especially during peak hours.
