Dumpling Kings Phuture Daging – Malaysia First Plant-Based Meat
You probably read this before, the plant-based meat that is popular in US. The good news is it is available in Malaysia thanks to collaboration of Dumpling Kings with Phuture Daging.
Their signature products are plant-based meat dumplings and we tasted it at Le Food in Subang Jaya recently. Dumpling Kings is dumpling franchise company while Phuture Daging is a plant-based meat foodtech company.
Nowadays, health-conscious consumers prefer plant-based food especially since the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted the food logistics network, raising health and food safety concerns. However, the current plant-based dining outlets in Malaysia are limited, and less accessible.
This new collaboration between Dumpling Kings and Phuture Daging will see the opening of Malaysia’s first Dumpling Kings outlet offering a fully-halal, plant-based menu in the 4th quarter of 2020. Not only they are more affordable, but more socially and environmentally conscious.
Leveraging Phuture Daging’s customized plant-based meat solutions and halal-certified manufacturing process, Dumpling Kings aims to make the humble dumpling a comfort food that can be shared among Malaysians, regardless of dietary or religious restrictions.
We had the opportunity to taste four types of plant-based meat dumplings and they are the Mushroom Cabbage, Chives, Spicy Mala, and Kimchi plant-based meat dumpling
Dumpling Kings Phuture Daging Dumplings Review
There are four types of plant-based meat dumplings we tasted and they are Mushroom Cabbage, Chives, Spicy Mala, and Kimchi plant-based meat dumpling.
What we did is blind food tasting so we get the first taste and impression of the taste and texture of plant-based meat dumpling without knowing the ingredients.
The strong flavour of chives make it easier to identify this pan fried Chives Plant-Based Meat Dumpling. We love the pan fried dumpling as it makes the skin crispier with more texture.
You can’t complain the strong taste and spiciness from the spicy mala plant-based meat dumpling. The spicy sauce might overwhelm the taste of the plant-based meat but the spiciness is so satisfying.
For Korean food lover, you will enjoy this Kimchi plant-based meat dumpling. The kimchi adds more flavour to the plant-based meat and this is very enjoyable.
Dumpling Kings co-founders Lyn Teh and Shawn Pan plan to advance the collaboration with Phuture Daging through a franchising model that provides entrepreneurship opportunity for aspiring young entrepreneur in Malaysia plans to take the collaboration with Phuture Daging further in 2021, opening up the Dumpling Kings brand to young entrepreneurs who need a leg-up into the plant-based food sector.
Also present at the signing and food tasting was Phuture Daging general manager Datin Maziah Binti Omar, who noted that this partnership marks Phuture Daging’s introduction of its halal plant-based solutions to the Malaysian market.

All our ingredients are halal, sourced from local farms and processed in compliance with halal practices,” she said.
