This is something interesting to share. During this COVID-19 pandemic, most commercial passenger airlines takes a big hit on their income as flying is restricted in Malaysia and most countries around the world. For the air cargo on the other hand is doing better in business compare to commercial passenger airlines. Recently, we were invited to witness the MY JET Xpress Airlines Air Cargo Inauguration Flight to East Malaysia at KLIA Cargo.
This was MY JET Xpress Airlines Air Cargo Inauguration Flight to East Malaysia and also official launch of MY JET daily flights to Kota Kinabalu and Sarawak.
For your information, MY JET Xpress Airlines previously known as Neptune Air; and they have a track record in delivering reliable and efficient air cargo transportation services domestically and also within the Southeast Asia region.
Currently MY JET Xpress Airlines have two aircrafts and around 70 personnel including engineering, admin and staffs. They hope to operate four aircrafts by second quarter of 2021. The two additional air crafts will be focusing on International routes. We have plans to fly to China and some of the sectors in IndoChina.
Their cargo to East Malaysia grew from 30-50 tonnes (before COVID-19) to 100 tonnes daily now and they hope the government can assist us to get more aircrafts without comprising safety.
This is the significant growth and the success of MY JET Xpress Airlines is driven by ensuring that their level of services achieve the maintenance of 98% punctuality or ‘On Time Performance’ (OTP). They currently offer daily cargo services from West to East Malaysia.
