Mahkota Point Food Court Sang Har Mee

This is quick review on the Sang Har Mee we ordered from Mahkota Point Food Court at Bandar Mahkota Cheras. We got to know this from Makan Club and decided to go there and take away the Sang Har Mee. Due to the CMCO, it is impossible for us (family of four) travelled in a car or having dinner on the same table so we decided to ‘tapau’.

The Mahkota Point Food Court is located at Mahakota Point, K03/K04, Persiaran Mahkota Cheras 1, Bandar Mahkota Cheras, Selangor. It is a stand alone food court, open air with outdoor dining area at night.

The Sang Har Mee we ordered from the 818 Taichow stall as shown in the picture below. A single portion of Sang Har Mee is RM 25 and we add another egg noodles for RM 3 so for two noodles portion is RM 28. They only open for dinner from 6 pm onwards.

Their Sang Har Mee is Cantonese style with fried egg noodles and they offered quite a large ‘sang har’ prawn or fresh water prawn. The reason you don’t get to see the prawn egg (orange reddish color) as it has mixed with the sauce.

There is a big difference in dining in and take away. They separated the crunchy egg noodles with the sauce.

At home, we mixed everything together and try to plate the prawns nicely for photo. Now, the real question is, is it really tasty?

For Sang Har Mee less than RM 30, we believe it is very affordable. Popular Sang Har Mee places are selling at least RM 50 and above for similar prawn size.

The taste is pretty good, the taste of the sauce is spot on, they are pretty generous with the eggs in the sauce, the fresh water prawn is fresh and it is worth it. What we felt is missing the fragrant of the Chinese wine, maybe a spoon or two more will enhance the flavour of the sauce.

We had a little chat with lady boss and they are badly hit by CMCO like many other small food businesses in Klang Valley. We know many people still prefer to stay at home during this period of time and there are also many people’s income are affected by CMCO too. We felt like nagging on every single post as this is the time we have to take care of ourselves. If you plan to takeaway food back to your home, remember to support your small food stalls or restaurants. Kita Jaga Kita folks and thanks for reading!
