DidikTV to take over NTV7 Tomorrow
DidikTV to take over NTV7 Tomorrow
Do you still remember the days without Astro? It was all about FREE TV and we had TV channels like RTM 1, RTM 2, TV3 and Metrovision before NTV7 launched in 7 April 1998 by Media Prima. Metrovision was ceased in 1999 and relaunched it as 8TV in 2004 while TV9 is launched by Media Prima in 2006.
It was a norm to switch on TV back in the old days when there were no smartphones and Internet was slow as ever. Most of us tuned to NT7 back then as it is ‘Your Feel Good Channel’ with many interesting shows and programs.
As announced on Ministry of Education Malaysia Facebook Page a few days ago, a special education channel known as DidikTV will be broadcasting from 7 am to 12 am every day. This will be at DidikTV@ntv7 starting tomorrow, 17 February 2021.
This is the first time the Ministry of Education Malaysia offers a special dedicated education TV for the public for free. This is for the Ministry of Education to provide quality education access to students across the country. Please take note that not everyone can afford Astro or Internet connection at home especially at rural areas in Malaysia.
NTV7 is a multilingual TV channel and we used to watch it most of the time. We were also involved in NTV7 Foodie Blogger series a couple years back.
It feels sad to know that today is the last day of NTV7 and on the other hand, it is good to have a dedicated education channel for the public. On top of DidikTV, the Ministry of Education will be providing 11 hours of education TV programmed on TV Okey RTM and Tutor TV Astro.
It’s a good move indeed as not everyone can afford unlimited Internet access.
