TESCO Malaysia Rebranded to Lotus’s
TESCO Malaysia Rebranded to Lotus’s
TESCO Malaysia Rebranded to Lotus’s. This is confirmed as Tesco Malaysia Facebook Page confirmed that it will be rebranded to Lotus’s. Few things we know about this new Lotus’s, it is just rebranded in Thailand and it is coming to Malaysia.
Why the TESCO Malaysia rebranding?
Tesco sold its Malaysia and Thailand business to Thailand’s CP Group (Charoen Pokphand) last year. On top pf that, the Malaysia Trade Competition Commission (MTCC) also approved CP Group acquisition of Tesco Malaysia in November 2020 after the approval of Thailand’s Office of Trade Competition Commission (OTCC).
For those who travelled to Thailand often, you must have seen CP food in 7 Eleven Thailand. Both CP Food and 7 Eleven Thailand outlets are owned by CP Group. They are the largest private company in Thailand. They also owned Makro and Lotus stores in Thailand.
It is understandable that CP Group wants to rebrand the TESCO brand name to a new brand name which include Malaysia. We will see what are the new updates from Lotuss Malaysia. TESCO Malaysia is Officially Rebranded to Lotus’s.
It is kinda sad reading this…how wish I Tesco could retain its name.
