Ishin Japanese Dining Jalan Kelang Lama
Ishin Japanese Dining Jalan Kelang Lama
This Ishin Japanese Dining and it is one of the few popular Japanese restaurants at Jalan Kelang Lama. This Japanese restaurant is usually packed during dinner times and reservation is highly recommended to avoid disappointment. We recently went there for dinner before the MCO (movement control order) restarts.
There are many Japanese restaurants in this part of Kuala Lumpur especially at Jalan Kelang Lama and Taman Desa. Some of the popular Japanese restaurants include Nihonkai, Mitatsu, Eatomo, Himawari, Taisyu Yakiniku and more. We wanted to visit Mitatsu Japanese Restaurant probably after MCO when it is safe to dine in again.
We went to Ishin Japanese Dining at Jalang Kelang Lama after it is recommended by many of our friends. We booked a table for dinner and luckily we managed to get a parking spot nearby.
The moment we stepped into the restaurant, told them our booking name and the waitress ushered us to our table.
Due to the current situation, most of the tables are partitioned and they followed the SOP (standard operating procedure).
They have quite a comprehensive menu and you can check out their menu online at http://ishin.my/menu/menu.html#. We ordered sashimi, teppanyaki and their bento for dinner.
Their version of sashimi moriawase comes with five types of premium seafood. They are tuna, hamachi, tuna, scallop and salmon. Each type comes with three pieces each so it is 15 pieces of sashimi.
Honestly, the sashimi here is fresh and we love the generosity of their thick cuts. To be honest, this is one of the most value of money sashimi moriawase you can find in KL. Considering the freshness, the thick cut and only priced at RM 80, this is a value for money.
The usual teppanyaki in KL comes with heaps of ‘taugeh’ (beansprout) and rice. Luckily, their sirloin beef teppanyi comes with good portion of beef cubes with green, garlic rice, mini beansprout, tomato with fruits (watermelon and kiwi) and the two sauces.
The beef is cooked to medium rare (looks like medium on photo due to the flash). The sirloin beef is gorgeous with lovely texture and flavor and it complements well with the fragrance garlic fried rice. They also offer rolled beef which is slightly cheaper at RM 61.
This is their special house selection in bento box. The Ishin Bento comes with sashimi, tempura, grilled saba, rice and dessert. There are 6 pieces of sashimi (three types), assortment of tempura, delicious grilled saba fish and strawberry dessert. This is a typical Japanese bento that comes with fresh sashimi and with good portion.
Overall, we enjoyed our dinner at Ishin Japanese Dining at Jalan Kelang Lama and not forgetting their friendly service. We enjoyed the sashimi and the teppanyaki and for the pricing, it is typical KL pricing. Our review is based on the food we ordered during our dinner.
