This is one of the forgotten places for Teo Chew Fried Kuey Teow or Char Kuey Teow in KL. This is the Teo Chew Fried Kuey Teow at Jalan Imbi and they have been around for decades.

The Teo Chew Fried Kuey Teow is located at the outdoor parking for Honda Showroom, junction of Jalan Barat and opposite Restoran Win Heng Seng. They are open for dinner only from 6.30 pm to 10 pm daily except Tuesday.

We recently revisited this Teo Chew Fried Kuey Teow Jalan Imbi after many years. Since moving further out of KL, it is too far to drive to downtown just for a plate of fried kuey teow. Furthermore with kids nowadays, they prefer shopping malls than outdoor dining.

We dropped by at Teo Chew Fried Kuey Teow Jalan Imbi and the place is still busy (despite it was a rainy evening). Many regulars still come for their favourite fried kuey teow.

The team of mother and daughter is still operating the Teo Chew Fried Kuey Teow stall. A plate of fried kuey teow is RM 6 and above.

Teo Chew Fried Kuey Teow is KL version of char kuey teow. It is darker in colour and the texture is dryer than the Penang’s version.

We still enjoy the fried kuey teow here, the ‘wok hei’ and the taste is still there. It is such a comfort food on a cold rainy evening and it was worth the trip. To be honest, there are many fried kuey teow stalls in KL but most of them are really below par in terms of taste and ‘wok hei’. That is the reason why we don’t mind travel for a worthy fried kuey teow.

We were told that they might need to relocate soon as the local authorities do not want any more food stalls in the open car park area in the city center. They have no place for relocation yet but if the relocation, it will be hard to locate them. The number we have from Google is 011-1330 3800.
