During this lockdown, we stayed at home and we chose to order food online. If you are staying at Bandar Baru Petaling Jaya, you should check out the bakery at Restoran Sri Karak. The restaurant is popular with its Muslim friendly Chinese cuisine for decades but they also have their own bakery and they do offer durians during the season.

 Restoran Sri Karak opened in 2003 in PJ New Town and they have been operating for 17 years. The restaurant has been featured in various media such as TV, magazines, blogs, newspaper and more.

Restoran Sri Karak offers two section, their bakery section and the restaurant section. They have their own bakery kitchen and they bake fresh breads and pastries every day!

For pastries, they offer freshly baked breads, Chinese pastries such as egg tart, kaya puff, cakes, swiss rolls, durian tarts, Portuguese tarts, ‘Durian Bombs’ and more.

They offer food delivery from various food app platform or you can call them directly for booking at 012-929 3240.

We had their white bread, Portuguese tarts, Butter Cake and some Musang King Durian. If you are durian lover, you can consider ordering their durian tart and durian bomb.

Durian tart is made from the durian puree from their farm in Karak. It offers the mild durian taste that is enjoyable.

Durian bomb comes with crispy crust and durian filling. They have been selling this since their first day and many of their customers loved this.

What we like about their breads and pastries is they bake it fresh daily. They also use their own home recipe so it is healthier than the conventional breads and pastries out there.

The boys loved the bread as we spread butter and garlic and toast it. What they love the bread is the taste and texture.

Their Portuguese tarts are delightful. It is not too sweet and not over burn. You can easily heat it up using a mini oven.

The Portuguese crust is crispy while the filling is sweet and it is very enjoyable and addictive. You can enjoy their tarts with a cup of tea or coffee for breakfast or tea time.

They also offer Musang King durian or Black Thorn durian during durian season. Please check with them when you want to order from them. Most of their regular customers will order durians from them as it is from their farm in Karak.

On top of the bakery, you can find many delicious pork free Chinese food at Restoran Sri Karak like their Sang Har noodles, roast duck and more.

Overall, we enjoyed the pastries and food in Restoran Sri Karak and PJ New Town. Visited them for the past 17 years and they remained consistent on their food quality and taste.
