Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City Centre Symphony Buffet Dinner

Earlier this month, I visited Johor Bahru for work and I stayed at the ‘new’ Holiday Inn Johor Baru City Centre. The Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City Centre is a four star hotel and it near Johor Bahru City Square. On top of the amazing stay, the hotel offers Symphony buffet dinner from Sunday to Wednesday.

The Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City Centre is located on top of the building on level six and it is really windy from morning till night. The hotel is blessed with the video of the Johor Bahru city centre and also Singapore across the Causeway.

Since I stayed at the hotel for a few nights, I went to the Symphony Buffet Dinner at Dine @ Eight.

Symphony Buffet Dinner is RM98.00 nett per person and it is falf price for senior citizens (60 years old and above) and children (6 to 12 years old). For RM 98 nett per person, it is really value for money considering this is a four star hotel and you can’t get that price in Kuala Lumpur.

What we like about Dine @ Eight is the restaurant is spacious and there are many tables available.

Time to explain what they offer in the simplest way so you know what you are expecting. There are a couple of sections and they are:

Grill Station

Pizza Area

Buffet Area

Dessert Area

Garden Salad Station

Ais Kacang Station

Drinks – Teh Tarik and coffee

The buffet starts from 6 pm to 10pm so if you are a buffet lover, you can consider Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City Centre Symphony Buffet Dinner.

There are so many types of food available and I tried my best to taste most of them. What I like most is the Grill food, pizza and Malaysian dessert. I didn’t try all their food but these are the ones I love most.

For the grill station, they offer chicken, beef and lamb. Once you picked your meat, they will grilled it for you and hence it is hot and tasty. What I like about their grilled food is it is well marinated and the chef took his time to cook it right. Thus, the grilled meat are tasty and you will ask for more.

Their pizzas are freshly homemade daily and they have an oven next to the grill station. Thus, you get the warm pizza served out of oven and this is better than I expected.

For dessert area, you will be spoil with choices. There are mini cakes, Malaysian dessert, ais kacang machine, crepe and more. I love the crepe most as it is cook per order and you can customise the crepe.

With so many condiments, you can mix and match for your crepe. What I did is a bit silly, I created the ‘apam balik’ crepe so the ingredients are butter, corn and peanuts (minus the coconut flakes). The taste is almost similar to apam balik and I loved it!

One thing missing from this buffet is the ice cream area. That is something I loved most in most buffets but after the crepe, i enjoyed the buffet honestly.

Overall, there are hit and misses in the taste of some food but since they offered so many varieties of food, just pick the ones that you prefer. For the price of the buffet, I think you can consider visiting the Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City Centre Symphony Buffet Dinner.
