Jungceylon Shopping Centre Patong Phuket Is Closed
This is one of the biggest surprises on my recent trip to Phuket Thailand. After missing out in traveling abroad for two years, I went for 10 days trip in Thailand. My journey starts from Phuket to Khao Lak and flies to Bangkok. During my stay in Phuket, I stayed at Andaman Beach Resort Patong. As usual, I will visit Jungceylon Shopping Centre and to my horror, it was closed (until further notice).
I never bother to check on Jungceylon Shopping Centre as it was the most popular shopping cente in Patong Phuket. After a quick check, the shopping centre have been closed for over one year. Many businesses are hit with pandemic and the lack of tourist makes things difficult especially for the tourism sector.
What I didn’t know is the BIG C Jungceylon is still open and the location is at the back of the shopping centre. However, the mall is closed until further notice but there is announcement on upgrade but no works yet so it might takes some time.

When I walk around the Patong area, there are many convenience stores like 7-Eleven and Family Mart are closed. On the bright side, the tourists are coming back gradually and hopefully from May onwards, there will be a huge influx of tourists due to the changes of the Thailand Pass.
