Taiwan Excellence Spreads Love with Rope Jumping for Charity
Do I miss Taiwan? Yes, I do and in fact I planned to visit Taiwan last year. If you can’t wait for Taiwan, no worries as you can check out the long-awaited LOHAS Taiwan Excellence 2022: Jump for Love charity campaign has finally kicked off at Sunway Velocity Mall. The event was jointly unveiled by H.E Ms. Anne Hung, Representative of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia, and Mr. Halman Salleh, Deputy Director of Sports Division, Kuala Lumpur Youth and Sports Department.
LOHAS Taiwan Excellence 2022: Jump for Love is sponsored by Taiwan’s Bureau of Foreign Trade and Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), and the response to the competition has been overwhelmingly positive with 3,773 uploaded videos since the online rope jumping preliminaries begun on 16th of May.
The youngest contestant is only 6 years old, while the eldest is 70 years old, and Johor took the spot of the most contestants. Following a round of elimination by a panel of professional judges, 80 participants successfully made it into the finals in four categories, including the double-legged and freestyle jump. The finals will be a live event scheduled for the 25th of June as contestants vie for the top spots.
I was at this charity event, located at the main concourse of Sunway Velocity Mall. In this charity event, every jump made by participants are converted into Love Points and the participants successfully exceeded the 800,000-points target set by the organiser. Taiwan Excellence is donating a range of products including KARMA wheelchairs, AROMASE shampoo, TATUNG electric cookers, SIMBA feeding bottles, rice, oil and biscuit worth RM 50,000 to the Suriana Welfare Society – a children welfare organization devoted to helping children from low-income families. As a gesture of gratitude to the organizers for their donation, the children sang a touching rendition of during the opening event.
The donation handover ceremony was witnessed by Deputy Director Halman Salleh, and he lauded the effort of Taiwan Excellence in extending a helping hand to the Malaysian society through the act of kindness as well as the effort in promoting the healthy exercise such as rope jumping to more people.
H.E Ms. Anne Hung said during her speech that Taiwan Excellence is the symbol of high-quality production from Taiwan and products bearing the mark have achieved the highest honour and the products will benefits the recipients. The jump rope charity event this time has been conceived to benefit disadvantaged children, while the Malaysia Book of Record challenge will benefit Malaysia National Kidney Foundation. The organizer also made it a mission to support smallholder farms from East Malaysia. Bridging Taiwanese products and the Malaysian people will have far-reaching and meaningful significance.
LOHAS Taiwan Excellence 2022: Jump for Love is scheduled to run from the 24th of June (Friday) to 27th of June (Monday) at the Sunway Velocity Mall. The jump rope competition finals to be held on June 25. On the 26th of June, 15 Malaysian skippers will be attempting to make their mark in the Malaysia Book of Records with the entry “Most Skips Over a Single Rope in One Minute by A Team” (benchmark: 130 skips minimum). The final day activities include free health screening for seniors & LOHAS cooking demonstration.
On top of that, there are also cool products available at the event. Products from 13 award winning Taiwanese brands will be on display during the event for the public to learn more about Taiwanese products. Featured brands include:
– Beauty and hair care : AROMASE, Bio-Jourdeness, Derma Angel, and Natural Beauty
– Health and leisure : Bionime, :dc, EleClean, GoodARCH, and ible Airvida
– Lifestyle products : Acera, Johnson Fitness, TUMÄ, and Vinaera
In addition to the product showcase, the organiser has also planned a series of eco-friendly experiences, home farming workshop, health screening, cooking demonstration and online promotions. 500 sets of early-bird prizes will be given away each day, and there are numerous opportunities to win attractive prizes throughout the event. Visitors are encouraged to pit their rope jumping ability on different surfaces including foot reflexology boards, fans and grass turf. The event is open to the public and everyone is welcomed to participate.

26 June Malaysia Book of Records Challenge | § 12.30pm: Freestyle Jump: Jump for Freedom workshop:Instructors from the GB Rope Skipping Academy will give a live demonstration of freestyle rope jumping. Those who want to learn some new tricks must not miss this exciting demonstration. § 3pm/Attempt for the Malaysia Book of Record:15 Malaysian rope jumping skippers will be attempting to make their mark in the Malaysia Book of Records with the entry “Most Skips Over a Single Rope in One Minute By A Team” (benchmark: 130 skips minimum). In the event of a successful attempt, Taiwan Excellence will donate 1) 100 units of Rightest blood glucose monitoring system and test strips to the National Kidney Foundation of Malaysia; 2) one TUMÄ Flow2One Plus air ventilator exhaust fan & purifier to the community group MyPJ. |
27 June Healthy Aging Day | § All day/Free health screening for seniors: Free blood sugar and blood pressure check with onsite health consultation. § 3pm/LOHAS cooking demonstration:BMS Organics will be joining force with social enterprise Langit Collective to demonstrate how to prepare Hakka Lei Cha (pounded tea rice) using organic and healthy ingredients to create unique and delicious flavour profiles.
