Teamlab Japan Lalaport BBCC Resonating Microcosms
We blogged about Teamlab Japan coming to Malaysia and they invited us for the event preview a few days ago with other content creators. Time for story sharing session. The art collective teamLab, “teamLab: Resonating Microcosms“ will be held from 4th August to 30th November 2022 at Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport BUKIT BINTANG CITY CENTRE (hereinafter “LaLaport BBCC”,) a commercial facility that opened in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in January 2022.
teamLab, which has held large numbers of exhibitions worldwide, will exhibit its light artworks at LaLaport BBCC. Named “teamLab: Resonating Microcosms,” visitors will be immersed in its transformation by the presence of people and the environment of nature.
Here are some of the important things you should know about Teamlab Japan Lalaport BBCC Resonating Microcosms.
■Name of Exhibition

■Title
Resonating Microcosms – Liquified Light Color, Sunrise and Sunset
The Rooftop Garden, which features countless ovoids, is an art space that transforms through changes in the natural environment and the presence of people.
Under the sun, the ovoids reflect the world around them.
As the sun sets, the ovoids begin to shine by themselves. When an ovoid is pushed by a person, blown by the wind, or hit by rain, it shines brightly and emits a sound tone as it rises back up on its own. The ovoids around it also respond one after another, resonating out the same sound tone and light color.
The surrounding Resonating Trees also respond and change continuously.
teamLab is experimenting with the concept of color. The ovoids can change into a total of 57 newly-defined Liquified Light Colors.
The space of the work is interactively transformed under the influence of the wind, rain, and the behavior of the people in the space, making the environment and the people a part of the work.
■Title of the work
Resonating Trees
The trees shine brightly. The light of each tree is autonomous, slowly blinking.
The light transmitted from “Resonating Microcosms – Liquified Light Color, Sunrise and Sunset” causes the trees’ lights to change color, and a tone specific to that color resonates out.
The light of a tree is transmitted to the surrounding trees one by one, as the sound is continuously emitted.
When a light resonates from the trees in the distance, it signifies the presence of people. Perhaps people will become more aware of the existence of others in the same space.
